  • Hans van Manen is appointed as Commandeur in de Orde van de Nederlandse Leeuw. The insignia were presented to him by Amsterdam's mayor Job Cohen, concluding the gala premiere of the Hans van Manen Festival, at Het Muziektheater in Amsterdam on 11 September 2007. The ceremony took place on stage, in front of the audience and in presence of Her Majesty Queen Beatrix and Her Royal Highness Princess Máxima.   • This year's Prix Benois de la Danse will be awarded during a gala at the Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow on May 22nd. As a member of the international jury, Hans van Manen will attend the gala. Among others, nominee for best female dancer is Igone de Jongh (Het Nationale Ballet) and for best male dancer Alexander Zhembrovskyy (Het Nationale Ballet), both for their role in Six Piano Pieces (Hans van Manen).   • Hans van Manen is celebrating his 75th birthday in 2007. To pay tribute to him, Het Nationale Ballet will be organising a festival in September: several Dutch and foreign companies will present a wide range of choreographies in Amsterdam. In Arnhem the Introdans Ensemble for Youth will open the season 2007/08 with VANMANENMIX: a sparkling program with repertory of Hans van Manen for young and old.


  • With the program 'Points of View' Het Nationale Ballet will perform Kammerballett (1995) of Hans van Manen.   • Hans van Manen received the prestigious Erasmus Prize for his important work. In November 2006 the French graphic designer Pierre Bernard will receive the Erasmus Prize.   • The Dutch National Ballet appears at London's famous Sadler's Wells Theatre, cradle of the English Royal Ballet and today generally regarded as London's top venue for international dance.
